Appropriately, Richard Sherman was dressed to the nines as he was officially introduced as a San Francisco 49ers player.
The veteran cornerback entered his introductory press conference on Tuesday with a fiery and confident attitude about his future with the franchise after leaving Seattle Seahawks.
"Very excited to be here," Sherman said.
"It was a tough decision, but things happen and you got to move on. I'm looking forward to moving on to a new chapter and helping this team win ballgames."
Sherman, who acted as his own agent, agreed to a three-year contract worth $39 million with the team earlier this month that included a $5 million signing bonus. The deal also includes guarantees that roll over each season if he makes the Pro Bowl.
But with the 49ers transitioning back to contenders, Sherman has his sights set on getting back to the Super Bowl.
"[Quarterback] Jimmy [Garoppolo] is a tremendous asset to this team," Sherman said. "There are a lot of young guys I expect to have a big leap from last year to this year.
"It's [GM] John [Lynch] and it's [coach] Kyle [Shanahan]. They brought stability to this organization. They brought fun, they brought belief, they brought faith. The players believe they can win. The players believe in the staff."
Despite coming off a year in which he was limited to nine games after suffering a season-ending Achilles injury, Sherman is optimistic he will get back on the field "May-June" after undergoing surgery and a procedure to remove bone spurs.
He added there is "no doubt" he will be ready to play in Week 1 and looks forward to taking on his former team.
"I look forward to helping the 49ers win games," Sherman said. "I'm sure the rivalry will be renewed, and that I'll be at the centre of it again."
