WATCH: Cubs hit home run on first pitch of MLB season

March 29 2018 7:50 PM

The Chicago Cubs made the perfect start to the 2018 MLB season, as leadoff man Ian Happ hit a home run on the first pitch in the first game of the year.

Happ pulled Marlins pitcher Jose Urena's first-pitch fastball over the right-field fence at Marlins Park, giving Chicago a 1-0 lead.

Addison Russell and Jason Heyward added further runs as Urenas needed three dozen more pitches to get out of the first inning.

Brian Anderson drove in a run for the Marlins in the first, only for Anthony Rizzo to restore the Cubs' three-run advantage with a homer in the second.
