The New York Yankees believe star slugger Aaron Judge will return this MLB season as he recovers from a wrist injury.
Yankees outfielder Judge has been out since he was hit by a pitch and fractured his wrist against the Kansas City Royals last month.
Judge – a two-time All-Star is reportedly still not swinging a bat.
Asked about Judge on Friday, Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters: "I think we're still very optimistic [of Judge's return].
"It's obviously taken a little longer than we originally thought, but the plan is -- and belief is -- that he'll be back.
"When that is, we're not quite sure, but he'll be back, hopefully with plenty of time to get ready as we go down the stretch."
Judge has registered a .285/.398/.548 slash line in 99 games this season. He has also hit 26 home runs and tallied 61 RBIs.
