Vikings activate Sam Bradford off injured reserve

January 14 2018 1:21 AM

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford is back on the 53-man roster ahead of Sunday's NFL division round playoff against the New Orleans Saints.

The Vikings activated Bradford off injured reserve on Saturday after a left knee injury sent him to the sideline earlier this season.

Bradford played in just one full game this campaign, throwing for 346 yards and three touchdowns in a week one win over the Saints before suffering a non-contact knee injury late in the game.

He made his return against the Chicago Bears week five, but was benched before half-time and has not played since.

Bradford underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee before being placed on injured reserve on November 8. He returned to practice earlier this month and completed his fifth practice on Friday.

The Vikings turned to backup Case Keenum in Bradford's absence, going 11-3 in the 14 games he started. The team also have reinforcements in quarterbacks Teddy Bridgewater and Kyle Sloter.
