Tigers´ Cabrera out for season with ruptured biceps tendon

June 13 2018 3:33 AM

Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera will miss the rest of the MLB season due to a ruptured biceps tendon.

Cabrera left Tuesday's game against the Minnesota Twins with the injury, sustained on a swing in the early innings.

Manager Rod Gardenhire said afterwards Cabrera would miss the rest of the season.

The 35-year-old first baseman has already spent time on the disabled list this year with a hamstring injury.

He has missed 30 games this year.

He is batting .301 with three home runs and 22 RBIs this season.
