Astros´ win streak ends at 12

June 20 2018 6:28 AM

Houston fell to the Tampa Bay Rays 2-1 on Tuesday, when most would have thought they could have pulled out a win.

Justin Verlander was on the mound and he opposed a young Blake Snell, who features most of what the Astros usually like.

Snell is a young lefty with occasional control problems and Houston love to hit left-handed pitching.

However, despite a career-high seven walks from Snell, Houston were unable to figure out the former top prospect.

The Astros managed just three hits, and a home run by C.J. Cron in the early going and an RBI single from Wilson Ramos in the eighth off Hector Rondon proved to be enough for Tampa Bay.

Houston face off with the Rays again on Wednesday with hopes of getting back in the win column.

Tampa Bay will attempt to start a win streak of their own as they call on Houston-native Nathan Eovaldi to start.

Charlie Morton will take the mound for the Astros.
