Donald deserves more than what I got, says Suh

Ndamukong Suh believes Los Angeles Rams team-mate Aaron Donald deserves a more lucrative contract than the record-breaking deal he himself signed in 2015.

Donald is a no-show at the Rams' training camp for a second consecutive year as he continues to chase a new and improved contract.

And the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year has support from Suh, who became the highest paid defensive player in NFL history when he inked a six-year deal worth $114million with $60m guaranteed at the Miami Dolphins.

Von Miller, of the Denver Broncos, has since signed a contract with $70m guaranteed, but Suh puts Donald in that ballpark.

"[Donald] deserves more than what I got," Suh told USA TODAY Sports. "It's only right that he continues to play at a high level and prove that."

Despite the current impasse, Rams general manager Les Snead is not concerned that Donald will struggle for fitness as and when he returns.

"You want Aaron here, but the thing you know about Aaron is that, when he gets here, he will be in shape," Snead said.

Donald, 27, racked up 11 sacks, five forced fumbles and a league-leading 91 pressures last season.
