Ravens fined $200,000 for violating communication policy

The Baltimore Ravens have been fined $200,000 by the NFL for violating the coach-to-player communications policy during 2018 preseason games.

Baltimore addressed the situation by releasing a statement claiming they "misunderstood" the rule prohibiting multiple players simultaneously wearing helmets with coach-to-player communications components.

The Ravens were unaware it also was in effect during the preseason.

In June, the Ravens and head coach Jim Harbaugh were fined and forced to cancel their final two organised team activities (OTA) practices after the team violated collectively bargained rules governing contact in offseason workouts.

Baltimore have started the season 1-1 after beating the Buffalo Bills week one, but falling to the Cincinnati Bengals last week.
